Sun Conure Flying

Sun Conure Tricks
The first six feathers of sun conures’ wings are flight feathers. When their flight feathers fall out or are clipped, new feathers will immediately grow back to replace the old feathers, and may take several months or up to a year until their plumage is intact. Clipped wings can help prevent accidents for sun conures that live in the house, such as flying into a washing machine, oven, stove, and window. Windows are the number one cause of house birds’ deaths.

Sun conures are inquisitive and intelligent. They can learn tricks with time, patience, and reassurance. Teaching sun conures tricks is a rewarding experience. Sun conures love activities that stimulate their minds and keep them active; they love the attention they receive from their owners during these activities. Sun conures have been taught how to speak several different words, how to roll over, and how to lie down.
Sun Conure Screaming

Sun conures are mainly limited to high-pitched, loud squawks and shrieks, and are mainly vocal during the morning and afternoon. Their voice helps them find their flock in the wild when they are separated; it carries through hundreds of yards of thick forest. When they are lonely, they are persistently loud, emitting in rapid succession. Periods of noise and silence are normal. When sun conures are vocal, they either want attention or are happy.
Sun Conure Playing

Sun conures love to play, and it is good exercise for them. When they trust their owners, they will play with their owners, such as rolling onto their backs and wrestling with their owners' fingers. They can play peek-a-boo, play with a toy ball, and roll themselves into a blanket. They can be seen singing and dancing. Sun conures like to play with toys, so it always good to make sure they have a variety of toys to choose from.
